"COLT MODEL 1903 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN 565047. Cal. 32 ACP. British lend-lease pistol with parkerized finish having usual slide markings on both sides with a rampant Colt at left rear. Right side of frame is marked "U.S. PROPERTY" with British proofs just above grip. Fitted with rampant Colt, silver medallion, full checkered walnut grips & comes with one orig full blue magazine. These pistols are generally considered as General Officers' pistols but were also issued to the clandestine Office of Strategic Services (OSS) with a few being sent to Great Britain presumably for their General Officer Corps. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Overall retains about 98% strong orig gray/green parkerized finish with only very slight muzzle edge wear & some faint sharp edge wear. Grips have a few scattered chipped diamonds with light to moderate wear on right side & very light wear on left side. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. 4-33493 JR173 (1,750-2,750)"
