Rare Early Springfield Arms Co. Belt Model Revolver, without Loading Lever
Serial no. 47, .31 caliber percussion, 6-shot cylinder with etched decoration; 5-inch
round barrel, maker and address marking on topstrap; Warner's Patent 1851 marking on right
side of leaf engraved frame, with matching decoration on topstrap, hammer, triggerguard
backstrap and buttstrap; frame possibly originally in plated finish; balance blued, likely
with case-hardened hammer; made without loading lever. Varnished walnut grips.
Condition: Very good to fine. Gray and brown patina; pitting;
cylinder scene dull and with overall patina, nicks from hammer; grips 95% varnish, light
patina.
