Engraved Hopkins & Allen XL No. 8 Single Action Revolver with Swingout Ejector Rod
and Cylinder Pin System
Serial no. 408, .44-40 caliber, 4-inch round barrel; maker, model, caliber and patent
markings on topstrap; Merwin Hulbert & Co. style engraving on barrel, cylinder and
frame; pointer hunting dog panel scene on left side of frame. Nickel-plated, with
case-hardened hammer and triggerguard, with blued trigger; oil-finished walnut grips;
lanyard ring on butt.
Condition: Excellent. 98% nickel. 80% case-hardening and blue; light
tracking lines on cylinder. Grips excellent with light storage marks.
