Fine Colt Model 1849 London Pocket Revolver
Serial no. 7201, .31 caliber 5-shot percussion cylinder; 6-inch octagonal barrel marked
ADDRESS. COL: COLT./LONDON. within brackets; COLT'S/PATENT stamped on left side of frame,
stagecoach holdup cylinder roll scene; blue with case-hardened loading lever, hammer and
frame; silver-plated steel backstrap and triggerguard; varnished walnut grips. British
proof stampings on left side of barrel lug and on cylinder at breech.
Condition: Fine. 95% blue and case-hardening; minor wear; light
nicks, more pronounced on barrel lug; cylinder with sharp roll scene, minor tracking marks
at cylinder stop slots, safety pins flattened in some instances; spots of pitting on
hammer, with 50% case-hardening; light marks on cylinder; 98% silver on gripstraps with
tarnish; grips with 100% varnish, minor storage marks.
