Cased Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver, with Accessories
Serial no. 142777, .31 caliber percussion, 5-shot cylinder with stagecoach holdup roll
scene, 5-inch barrel with two-line Address Saml Colt/New York City marking within
brackets; COLTS/PATENT on left side of frame. Blued, with case-hardened lever, hammer and
frame; silver-plated brass gripstraps; varnished walnut grips. Mahogany case lined in
burgundy velvet, with eagle and shield powder flask, blued steel COLTS/PATENT bullet mold,
L-shaped screwdriver/nipple wrench, packet Hazard's combustible envelope cartridges,
container of Eley Bros. caps, key and miscellaneous lead projectiles.
Condition: Excellent. 90% blue, light wear and flaking (latter on
barrel); tracking lines on cylinder; sharp scene; light nicks on right side of barrel lug;
95% case-hardening with bright colors; 90% silver on gripstraps; grips with 100% varnish
remaining with minor storage marks. Case with crack on lid, wear around lock above
rosewood keyplate; some fading to interior; accessories very good.
