Scarce Wells Fargo & Co. Marked Colt Lightning First Model Slide Action Baby
Carbine
Serial no. 15933, .44-40 caliber, 20-inch round barrel with standard sights. Blued
finish. Left side of frame marked: W.F. & Co. Case-hardened hammer. Saddle ring.
Checkered walnut fore-end and walnut buttstock. Accmpanied with factory letter confirming
shipment to Wells Fargo in San Francisco on August 19, 1887.
Condition: Fine. Retaining approximately 30-40% finish mixed with
brown age patina and showing minor light pitting overall. Wood with wear and light marks.
Note: Manufactured in 1886.
