Excellent and Rare Pair of Colt Model 1878 Double Action Revolvers with Lanyard
Swivels and Ivory Grips
Serial nos. 42541 and 42564, .32-20 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrels with one-line maker and
Hartford address markings on top; "32 W.C.F." on left side; rampant colt logo
within circle on left side of each frame adjacent to top of left grip panel; blued with
ivory grips. Blued lanyard swivel on each butt. Sold together with Colt factory letter
confirming configuration Letter states guns were shipped on March 14, 1901 to Simmons
Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri.
Condition: Excellent. Each revolver with 98% blue; minor storage
marks, and light wear. No. 42541 with light swivel wear on butt. No. 42564 with small spot
pitting on ejector rod housing. Each with mellow patina to ivory.
