Fine Colt Single Action Army Frontier Six-Shooter with Pearl Grips
Serial no. 246594, .44-40 caliber, 4 3/4-inch barrel with standard maker and Hartford
two line address marking; COLT FRONTIER SIX-SHOOTER on left side of barrel; two-line
three-patent date marking on left side of frame with rampant colt logo in circle; blued
finish with case-hardened frame and hammer; mother-of-pearl grips.
Condition: Fine. 97% blue; 90% case-hardening, with light fading
primarily on left recoil shield; cylinder with tracking lines; grips fine, with some
darkening in color.
Note: Mfd. 1903. Accompanied by Colt factory research letter stating: .44-40 caliber; 4
3/4-inch barrel; blue finish; grips not listed; shipped to E.J. Post & Co.,
Albuquerque, NM c/o Winchester Repeating Arms Co., New Haven, Ct. Shipped August 25, 1903
in a shipment of 10.
