Colt Single Action Army Revolver, with Two-Piece Ivory Grips
Serial no. 285997, .45 caliber, 4 3/4-inch barrel with two-line Hartford address
marking; two-line three-patent date marking on left side of frame with rampant colt within
circle to right; blued finish with case-hardened frame and hammer; two piece ivory grips.
Sold together with a Colt factory letter confirming configuration. Gun shipped on November
14, 1906.
Condition: Very good to fine. 20% blue, balance brown; pitting;
traces case-hardening; tracking marks on cylinder, and touchup finish; antique grips with
mellow patina, light wear; added to revolver at some later date.
Note: Colt factory letter indicates shipment to Shapleigh Hardware Co., St. Louis,
1906.
