Serial no. 51. 16 gauge x 16 gauge x 8 x 57 JR. 26 inch barrels. Matted flat rib with
flip-up rear sight. Later raised front sight. Scope bases. Case-hardened boxlock
reinforced action engraved in semi-relief with bold floral motifs and game scenes of a fox
and a pair of roe deer. Greener-style crossbolt. Cocking indicators. Greener-style side
safety. Top lever rifle barrel selector. Adjustable set front trigger. Extractor. Side
clips. Finely checkered pistol -grip stock of lightly-figured walnut. Horn buttplate.
Bavarian style cheekpiece. Drop points. Horn grip cap. Sling swivels. Checkered splinter
fore-end with Deeley-style release.
Condition: Fine. Barrels show 60-70% bluing with some spotting. Left
barrel shows 2 slight dents. Bright bores. Rifle bore is dark. Action shows a dark patina.
Wood shows wear to finish on edges and handling marks. Stock shows repairs at bottom of
head and toe of butt. Buttplate shows insect damage.
