Serial no. 17097. .410. 28-inch barrels. Game rib marked: R. B. Rodda & Co.
Birmingham & Calcutta. Casehardened action with rebounding back action locks. Action
and locks 30-40% engraved with border and foliate scroll details. Low hammers. Finely
checkered straight grip stock of figured dark walnut. Silver oval with monogram. Recent
silver's type recoil pad. Finely checkered pull-off splinter fore-end.
Condition: Fine, as partially redone. Barrels show 99% re-blued
finish with some older marks. Fine pitting under fore-end. Bright bores with heavy
frosting at breech. Light pitting in left barrel near muzzle. Barrels have a slight upward
bend. Action and locks show a silver-gray patina. Hammers, triggerguard and fore-end iron
show 99% re-blued. Refinished wood shows a few handling marks and impressions. Fore-end
shows a nick and handling marks.
