Deluxe Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun with Gold-Inlaid Barrel Marking, Imman Meffert in
Suhl
Serial no. 24887, 16 gauge, with improved cylinder and full chokes to 30 3/4-inch
side-by-side barrels; gold inlaid inscription on matted and concave rib IMMAN MEFFERT IN
SUHL; proofmarks on bottom of barrel lug and barrel breech, each barrel with double gold
band inlays; scroll and border engraved with panel scenes of pointer dog, running rabbits,
pheasant and running roe deer; elegant MG gold monogram inlaid on upper tang; action opens
by lever mounted in front of triggerguard; set screw for front trigger; blued, with case
hardened breech and fore-end mounts; oil-finished walnut and checkered semipistolgrip
stock with checkered and scroll engraved steel buttplate; sling swivels; horn inlaid tip
to fore-end. Buttstock with pronounced cheekpiece.
Condition: Excellent. 98% blue, with brown cast; traces
case-hardening, excepting bright colors on inside surface of fore-end and on watertable;
brown and gray patina; stocks fine with storage marks. Fine bores.
