Serial no. 8122. 12 gauge. 30-inch barrels. Game rib marked: Roland Watson, 17 Whittall
Street, Birmingham with extension. Case-hardened border engraved boxlock action with a few
foliate scroll details and decorative designs around pins. Extractor. Automatic safety.
Hidden crossbolt. Finely checkered stock of highly figured walnut. Later recoil pad. Drop
points. Silver oval. Finely checkered fore-end with Anson release. Dark brown leather
trunk case with single brass lock. Green baize interior.
Condition: Fine, as partially redone. Barrels show 98% reblued
finish. Bright bores with isolated pitting mostly near muzzle. Action shows a silver
matted patina. Barrels/action show very slight looseness. Nick on side of upper tang.
Stock shows numerous handling marks and impressions. Fore-end shows handling marks.
Refreshed checkering shows some overlaps. Case in fair condition leather shows a crazed
pattern of drying cracks and scrapes. Insect losses to interior.
