There are small inspector initials on the various parts. This is one of approx. 23,000 of these revolvers made in the late 1850s through early 1860s. The vast majority of these revolvers were military issue and are rarely ever encountered with very much condition. CONDITION: Extremely fine, appears to be unfired. Overall retains 92-94% glossy bright orig blue with the loss areas flaked, not worn, to a medium patina. Rammer handle retains most of its dark orig case colors and hammer about all of its brilliant case colors. Grip has a small chip at the heel with a few minor nicks & scratches and retains about all of its oil finish. Front & backstraps are mostly a gray patina, simply from handling. Sometimes the hammer will not release on dbl action, otherwise mechanics are crisp, very bright, shiny bore. 4-30602 JR304 (4,500-5,500)
