Fine Pair of Brass Butt All Metal Flintlock Pistols Marked: Fontaine [early
18th-century]
.59 caliber, 8 1/2-inch tapered two-stage part round/part octagonal barrels with cannon
muzzles and molded bands. Lower facet of rear section of barrels marked: 3 Fontaine. Steel
ramrods and thimbles. Scroll-engraved triggerguards. One-piece scroll-engraved brass
grips. Engraved topstraps.
Condition: Very good to fine. Metal with wear and light age patina.
One example with fine hairline crack in barrel above front thimble. Grips excellent with
light age patina. Actions excellent.
