Rare National Arms Co. Single Action Teatfire Revolver, with Low Serial Number and
Ivory Grips
Serial no. 3, .45 teatfire caliber, 6-shot cylinder, 7 1/2-inch round barrel with
octagonal section near breech; marked on top of barrel: NATIONAL ARMS CO BROOKLYN, N.Y.;
German silver blade front sight; steel frame; ivory grips. Ejector on right side of frame;
lanyard ring on butt.
Condition: Excellent. Steel overall in fine condition; 60% blue,
balance mixed with plum brown patina and flaking; excellent ivory grips with mellow
patina.
Note: An extremely rare New York City manufactured firearm, serial no. 3 is related to
the manufacture of Moore and National pocket teatfire revolvers, but is one of the few
specimens presently known of the large caliber and large holster size configuration.
