Serial no. 17055, .44-40 caliber, six shot cylinder with scoop type flutes, 7-inch
barrel with standard Merwin Hulbert & Co., New York and patent dates on top of barrel;
Hopkins & Allen maker, Norwich Conn. U.S.A. address on left side; caliber on left side
of frame; blued with case-hardened hammer and triggerguard; checkered hard rubber grips.
Lanyard ring on butt.
Condition: Excellent. 85% blue, wear, nicks; traces on cylinder,
turned brown, with tracking lines; 70% case-hardening; grips excellent. Mechanism needs
adjustment.
Note: Seldom found in blued finish.
