Fine Merwin Hulbert & Co. Single Action Spur Trigger Belt Revolver
Serial no. 24333, .38 caliber centerfire, 5 1/2-inch round barrel with rib, five-shot
cylinder, blued with case-hardened hammer and trigger and checkered hard rubber grips;
lanyard ring in butt. Barrel rib marking indicates manufacture by Hopkins & Allen,
plus patent dates. Left side of bottom strap of frame indicates Merwin Hulbert & Co.,
New York.
Condition: Excellent. 85% finish; spots of blue turned brown;
tracking lines on cylinder. Grips excellent. Mechanism needs adjustment.
Note: Number 3968 stamped in large characters on each side of barrel, possibly
indicating from U.S. Cartridge Co. Collection. Rare in blue finish.
