Fine Factory-Engraved Colt Model 1849 Pocket Percussion Revolver
Serial no. 124522, .31 caliber, 4-inch octagonal barrel with inscribed address:
"Saml Colt". Scroll-engraved florals throughout with typical wolf's heads on
hammer and dog's head on barrel lug. "Colt's Patent" inscribed on left side of
frame. Case-hardened lever, hammer and frame. Silver-plated brass triggerguard and
gripstrap assembly. Letter "I" stamped below number indicating factory ivory
grips which are present. .
Condition: Very good to fine. Barrel, cylinder and frame showing
grey-brown age patina. Cylinder retaining approximately 80-85% scene with scattered wear.
Gripstrap assembly retaining 85-90% finish with light wear to relief edges. Grips
excellent with light wear and patina. Action excellent.
