Scarce and Exceptional Civilian Colt Model 1861 Navy Percussion Revolver
Serial no. 22066, .36 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with German silver blade type front
sight. New York City address. Blued finish. Case-hardened loading lever, hammer and frame.
Frame marked: Colt's/Patent. Standard cylinder scene. Nickel-plated brass triggerguard and
gripstrap assembly. Left side of triggerguard stamped: "N". Varnished walnut
grips.
Condition: Fine to excellent. Retaining approximately 60-65% finish
with scattered light wear and patina. Vibrant case-hardening remaining on lever, hammer
and frame. 100% cylinder scene with minor tracking line present. Triggerguard and
gripstrap assembly retaining 15-20% finish, primarily in protected areas. Screws retaining
bright blue finish. Grips near mint with a few minor marks. Action tight and crisp.
Overall, a superior example of this model.
Note: Manufactured in 1864. Approximately 38,000 of this model were produced.
