Serial no. 2361. 16 gauge/6.5x58R. 27-inch barrels with matted flat rib with automatic
rising rear rifle sight. Later claw mounts. Spear front sight. Sculpted and scalloped
boxlock action engraved with games scenes (running boar and roe deer) and bold open floral
details. Side clips. Cocking indicators. Tang-mounted rifle barrel selector. Greener-style
side safety and cross-bolt. Checkered pistolgrip stock of slightly-figured straight grain
walnut. Cartridge trap. Horn triggerguard. Hard rubber buttplate with basket-weave
pattern. Checkered splinter fore-end.
Condition: Very Good, as partially redone. Barrels show 94 - 96%
reblued finish. Both barrels show surface deformation at muzzles and bulges at midpoint.
Bright bores. Action and furniture shows a cleaned silver-gray patina with older spotting.
Stock shows 1-inch horizontal cracks at head. Triggerguard shows a repaired crack.
Refinished stock shows handling marks. Recut fore-end checkering. Rifle barrel selector
needs adjustment.
