Fine and Scarce Cased and Engraved E.M. Reilly & Co. of London Double Action
Breechloading Revolver
Serial no. 6294, .45 caliber centerfire, 6-shots, 4 1/2-in round barrel with flat top;
scroll and border engraved; topstrap inscribed with E.M. Reilly & Co. name, and 315
Oxford St., London address; British proofmarks; W&S of Webley & Scott on left side
of frame forward of cylinder; nickel-plated, with ivory grips; lanyard ring on plated and
engraved steel buttcap. Varnished mahogany case with red felt lining; small Reilly Gun
Maker address label inside lid; accessories of glass oil bottle with tin top, cleaning
rod, screwdriver, lead projectile and two empty lacquered Reilly tins.
Condition: Fine. 98% nickel, fading and with minor patina, spot
pitting on barrel and on cylinder; ivory grips with mellow patina. Case fine with light
wear, primarily on exterior; accessories fine.
