French Woman's Pocketbook Pistol by L. Loeven
The accordion style black leather woman's pocketbook with nickel-plated frames, the
last compartment with burgundy velvet-lined case containing a .22 caliber pinfire
single-shot breech-loading pocket pistol. 1 3/4-inch hinged barrel with side-swivel barrel
release. Blued finish. Scroll and floral-engraved frame. Folding trigger. One-piece ivory
grip. Two separate hinged door compartments containing cartridges flank the pistol. Inside
of lid with gilt label reading: L. Loeven/Fcant De Armes/rue de Rivoli/Paris. Overall
length of case: 4 1/2-inches.
Condition: Excellent. Metal with grey age patina and light wear
overall. Case excellent with light handling wear.
