Fine U.S. Martially Marked Model 1836 Flintlock Pistol by A. Waters, with Rare North
Carolina Militia Marking
.54 caliber smoothbore, 8 1/2-inch round barrel, with US/JH/P on breech, with
N.CAROLINA; lock with eagle head motif above A. WATERS/MILBURY, MS./1838 markings; steel
mountings, brass flashpan; blue and case-hardened lock; oil-finished walnut stock with
U.S. Ordnance inspector cartouches JH and MPL on left side. L on left side of stock near
sideplate. Individual letter stamps include K and H on various parts.
Condition: Fine. Brown patina to steel, light pitting; finish on
lock, fading; dent to barrel at left side of breech; stock fine with storage nicks and
marks.
