"COLT MODEL 1911A1 SEMI-AUTO MILITARY PISTOL. SN 733786. Cal. 45 ACP. Rare all blue 1911A1 built in early 1941 with usual slide markings on left side and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" on right side. It has orig fixed sights with a large "P" proof on top, in front of rear sight. Left side of frame has the "RS" in a box inspector initials above the magazine release & a large "P" proof below magazine release on left side. Left front web of trigger guard has commercial "VP" proof from the Colt factory not usually found on military firearms. Right side of frame has "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" above serial number and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" in front of slide lock stud hole. It has checkered trigger with short checkered hammer spur, long grip safety spur & checkered, curved mainspring housing. Mounted with full checkered brown plastic grips with large donuts. Top of frame, under slide, also has the "RS" inspector initials in a box along with a large "G" proof. A matching "G" proof is found in one of the milling cuts inside slide. Slide is not numbered to frame as in later issues. It has its orig bbl with "COLT 45 AUTO" on lower left side, a "P" proof on left side of bbl lug and a "G" proof on bottom of bbl. Magazine is a modern replacement. This is one of the more beautiful & highly finished military Model 1911A1's. CONDITION: Very fine. Slide retains 95-96% strong orig blue with some slight thinning on top right edge & light holster wear on left front edge. Frame retains about 80% strong orig blue with slight edge wear & thinning and possibly touched up front strap & bottom of trigger bow. Grips are extremely fine showing very light wear.
