Very rare Stoeger Luger with 8" artillery bbl, adjustable 800 meter artillery rear sight, DWM scroll on front toggle link & the American eagle over chamber. Right side of receiver is marked "A.F. STOEGER INC / NEW YORK." & right side of frame rail is marked "GENUINE LUGER-REGISTERED U.S. PATENT OFFICE." Right side of receiver also has the "GERMANY" export mark which is also found on bottom front of frame & on bottom of orig wood base magazine. Left side of receiver & breech block & bottom of bbl have crown "U" Oberndorf proofs. Safety is marked "SAFE" in top position and extractor is marked "LOADED". Accompanied by its correct military surplus commercial stock marked "MADE IN GERMANY" with its orig Imperial proof stamp & also accompanied by its orig brown leather holster rig with straps, orig takedown tool & cleaning rod. A very scarce & desirable Stoeger Luger. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, all numbered parts are matching. Overall retains about 98-99% strong orig factory blue 95-97% orig straw colors, slightly thinned. Grips are crisp with only very faint diamond point wear with sharp checkering & beautiful wood grain showing through. Grip screws retain virtually all of their orig fire blue. Magazine is minty. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. Stock is in near mint condition with holster & attaching leather crisp & clean with only very minor scuffs & light soil.
