"MAUSER BANNER 1941 POLICE EAGLE L LUGER & HOLSTER RIG. SN 495y. Cal. 9 mm. Extraordinary Mauser banner Luger with 4" bbl, Mauser banner on front toggle link & "1941" chamber date. It has Eagle "L" proof on right side of receiver with sear safety & is mounted with full checkered walnut grips that are unnumbered. It is accompanied by two matching numbered magazines in an "A. FISCHER / BERLIN C.2 / 1942" marked orig, untouched black leather holster. The #2 magazine is a "HAENEL SCHMEISSER PATENT" & the other a standard magazine. A nicer, all orig, as issued, WWII German Police Luger rig would be extremely difficult to find. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine, all matching, except grips which are unnumbered but orig to this pistol. Overall retains 98%+ orig factory blue with blue loss at the stock lug where it appears to have been stored with a stock attached & with slight muzzle edge wear. Grips are extremely fine with one or two chipped diamonds showing extremely light wear with attractive wood grain showing through. Magazines are very fine showing light wear with a small dent in the #2 magazine. Crisp mechanics, brilliant shiny bore. Holster is near mint & untouched. 4-36138 JR190 & BS (6,000-9,000)"
