"MAUSER 1937 S/42 FIRST VARIATION LUGER WITH RIG. SN 2744t.. Cal. 9 mm. Wonderful Luger & rig with 4" bbl, "S/42" on front toggle link, "1937" over chamber & eagle "63" proofs on right side of receiver. This is the early variation with straw colored small parts with two orig matching numbered magazines & an eagle "63" proofed takedown tool. Accompanied by a black leather holster with a large script trademark that appears to be "LR". It has two "WaA 145" Waffenampts & "1937" date stamped on the back side. Holster has a border on the flap and at the top of the opening. A 1937 S/42 with straw colored parts is hard to find in this condition & extremely difficult to obtain with two matching magazines & correct orig holster. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, all matching including grips & two magazines. Overall retains about 98% strong orig factory blue & about 92-94% strong orig factory straw colors. Grips are crisp with beautiful wood grain showing through & two or three chipped diamonds, with no hand grease, retaining most of their orig factory color. Magazines & tool are also extremely fine. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. Holster is very fine to extremely fine with light wear & scuffs and minor flexing & flaking on the strap. 4-36147 JR207 & BS (7,000-10,000)"
