"MARLIN MODEL 1881 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. SN 4570. Cal. 45 (45-70). Standard grade rifle with 28" oct bbl, full magazine, German silver Rocky Mtn. front sight & Marlin semi-buckhorn rear sight. Mounted with uncheckered, straight grain American walnut with straight stock & semi-crescent smooth steel buttplate. PROVENANCE: Leland Clapp Collection. CONDITION: About good. No orig finish remains with bbl & magazine tube a mottled dark silver/brown patina. Receiver is a mottled smooth brown patina with some light surface rust and may be an old refinish.
