"CZECH G33/40 BOLT ACTION MILITARY CARBINE. SN 5137a. Cal. 8X57 mm. Scarce G33/40 with 19" tapered rnd bbl, standard barleycorn front sight with hood & 1,000 meter rear sight. Receiver ring is marked "dot/1941" and left side of receiver is marked "G.33/40". All metal is finished in a high quality commercial style blue and it is mounted in a walnut stock and handguard instead of usual laminated stock & handguard. It has usual Mauser buttplate with a sheet metal plate around left side of butt & toe. Accompanied by a diamond pattern orig brown leather sling. Most of the visible parts have eagle "WaA63" Waffenampts or Nazi eagles. These rifles were made at Brno after Nazis had captured Czechoslovakia. This certainly is one of finest examples of this scarce carbine to be found. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection. CONDITION: Exceedingly fine, as new, all numbered parts are matching, appears to be unfired. Retains virtually all of its strong, bright factory blue on metal with only slight wear on bolt body. Wood is sound with a very few scattered light handling & storage marks. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. Sling is also near new. 4-36178 JR256 (3,500-5,000)"
