Colt Model 1861 Navy Revolver
Serial no. 14984, .36 caliber percussion, 7 1/2-inch barrel with standard maker and
New-York U.S. America marking, COLTS/PATENT on left side of frame, naval engagement
cylinder roll scene; military grade blued finish with case-hardened frame, hammer and
loading lever, silver-plated brass gripstraps; varnished walnut grips. H inspector
stamping on various parts. 8 and P on left side of triggerguard bow.
Condition: Excellent. 80% blue on barrel, light wear and patina
fading, light nicks on lug; cylinder turning brown, with lightly rolled cylinder scene
remaining sharp, tracking lines and light patina at muzzle; three safety pins fine; 75%
case-hardening; mellow brass patina to gripstraps with minor green tarnish. Grips
excellent with 99% varnish. Excellent bore; nick on left of muzzle.
