Cased Colt Model 1862 Police Revolver, with Accessories
Serial no. 14115, .36 caliber percussion, 5-shot semi-fluted cylinder, 6 1/2-inch
barrel with one-line Address Col Saml Colt New-York U.S. America marking; COLTS/PATENT on
left side of frame. Blued, with case-hardened lever, hammer and frame; silver-plated brass
gripstraps; varnished walnut grips. Varnished mahogany case lined in dark green velvet,
with eagle and shield powder flask, steel COLTS/PATENT bullet mold, L-shaped
screwdriver/nipple wrench, packet Hazard's combustible envelope cartridges, and container
of F. Joyce & Co.
Condition: Excellent. 95% blue on barrel, light spots patina, minor
nicks on right side of lug; 85% on cylinder, some flaking and brown patina, and tracking
lines; 90% case-hardening, light fading, spot pitting on left side of loading lever; 80%
silver on backstrap; 50% silver on triggerguard strap. Grips 98% varnish, minor chips at
butt. Case fine, marks on exterior; interior fine; accessories very good to fine.
