Egyptian Hall, Birmingham. Locking rib extension. Case-hardened border engraved rounded
action with rebounding back action locks. Action and locks with fine foliate scroll panels
and some floral details. Percussion fences. Extractor. Low hammers. Finely checkered
straight grip stock of contrasting figured walnut. Horn buttplate. Finely checkered
splinter fore-end with Anson release. Leather covered trunk case with single brass lock.
Maroon baize interior. Maker's label with correct address.
Condition: Fine, as redone. Barrels show 98% reblued finish. Bright
right bore. Left bore shows frosting. Polished action shows some spotting on right side.
Extractor shows spotting. Refinished stock shows handling marks, light impressions, and a
gouge near butt. Fore-end shows light handling marks. Refreshed checkering. Case
condition: exterior: Very Good with losses to finish on lid from tape being removed.
Scuffing to edges. Interior: Fine with slight losses to baize interior and label.
