"DWM MODEL 1906 AMERICAN EAGLE LUGER. SN 68721. Cal. 30 Luger. Blue finish with 4-3/4" tapered rnd bbl, dovetail front sight and fixed rear sight on toggle. It has the spread winged American eagle over chamber area with commercial crown "N" proofs on side of receiver and bottom of bbl. It has "GERMANY" below serial number on frame. Extractor is marked "LOADED" with a "DWM" marked toggle link and when the thumb safety is in the safe position, the exposed area is polished bright. Fitted with full checkered walnut grips and accompanied by an orig unmarked wood base magazine. Prior to WWI this model was the most popular Luger in the United States. Reference Lugers at Random, Kenyon. CONDITION: About fine, all matching except grips & magazine which are properly unnumbered. Bbl retains about 85% orig blue, thinned on sides with some fine pitting on left side from holster storage. Receiver retains 95-96% strong orig blue with one small area of pin prick pitting. Toggle & bolt system retain most of their orig blue finish. Frame blue is strong & bright with some fine pin prick pitting on the high raised areas. Left grip has a small repaired chip, otherwise grips are sound showing moderate use. Magazine is very fine. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore, slightly frosted in the grooves. 4-32219 JR236 (3,000-5,000)"
