Rare Cased C.R. Alsop Navy Model Percussion Revolver with Attachable Shoulder Stock
Serial no. 317, .36 caliber percussion, 6 5/8-inch octagonal barrel, 5-shot cylinder
and sideplate on left side of frame marked with patent dates; inventor's name also with
cylinder marking; blued finish, case-hardened hammer, barrel lug and lever; varnished
walnut grips. Varnished mahogany brassbound case with brass plaque inlaid on lid;
accessories of shoulder stock with varnished walnut stock and brass mounts, steel bullet
mold, Sykes patent powder flask, cap tin, L-shaped screwdriver/nipple wrench, steel and
brass cleaning rod, and miscellaneous projectiles.
Condition: Fine to excellent. 20% blue, balance turned age brown and
gray; patina and light pitting; 45% case-hardening, fading; 90% varnish on grips, with
nicks, wear; 98% varnish on stock, wear, nicks; case fine, light wear on interior;
exterior with nicks, wear and 85% varnish. Complete with accessories.
