Serial no. 1464, .38 rimfire caliber, 5-shot cylinder, 3 1/16-inch octagonal barrel
marked on top, FAVORITE No. 3; topstrap marked .38 CAL.; profusely scroll and border
engraved, panel scene on left side of frame; gold-plated hammer, cylinder, trigger and
cylinder pin, balance nickel-plated; mother-of-pearl grips. Leather-covered wood case with
blind tooled lid motif, lined in blue velvet and satin, the lid lining gold-embossed JOHN
P. LOVELL & SONS/BOSTON; with empty pasteboard box by Winchester, for 50 .38 S & W
cartridges.
Condition: Excellent. 98% nickel, light patina; 95% gold, with light
patina. Excellent grips with minor fading of color; excellent case with light wear and
marks on exterior; Lining worn and with light stains.
