Serial no. 15444. 16 x 16 gauge by 8x57JR. 26 3/4-inch Bohler steel barrels with matted
flat rib with automatic rising rear sight. Case-hardened sculpted and scalloped Boxlock
action with full coverage of fine foliate scroll and game scenes: stag and hind and pair
of roe deer. Intercepting safeties. Greener-style cross bolt. Extractors. Adjustable set
front trigger. Cocking indicators. Rifle barrel selector on tang. Greener-style side
safety. Side clips. Disc-set strikers for shotgun barrels. Finely checkered pistolgrip
stock of slightly figured walnut. Horn grip cap and buttplate. Cheekpiece. Finely
checkered splinter fore-end with Deeley-style release. Telescopic base mounted on right
barrel with Weaver Marksman 4x telescopic sight with cross-hairs.
Condition: Fine, as partially redone. Barrels show 90 - 5% worn
bluing with some staining and spotting. Left barrel shows a minor dent. Both barrels show
slight dents. Bright shotgun bores. Rifle bore shows well-defined rifling with some light
pitting. Action show 50 - 60% faint case colors. Buttplate shows losses. Refreshed wood
shows handling marks. Oval shows roughness. Telescopic sight needs work; eyepiece is
cross-threaded and image is blurred.
