Cased 16 Gauge x 9.3 x 72 Sauer J. P. Sauer Underlever Hammer Drilling
Serial no. 119530. 16 x 16 gauge, 9.3 x 72 Sauer. 26 inch barrels. Matted flat rib with
folding rear sight and spear front sight. Case-hardened border engraved snap underlever
action with a few foliate scroll details. Extractor. Adjustable set front trigger. Low
hammers. Top lever selects rifle barrel for right lock. Checkered pistolgrip stock of
figured walnut. Later hard rubber buttplate. Checkered V-shaped splinter fore-end with
Deeley-style release. Leather covered European-style trunk case with nickel-silver corners
and name plate with owner's name. Green velvet interior.
Condition: Very Good. Metal shows a brown patina. Bright bores with
areas of pitting. Left bore shows some deep pitting near chamber. Left barrel shows a
dent. Re-coated wood shows numerous nicks and scratches. Checkering shows wear. Case in
very good condition.
