Serial no. 323. 12x12 gauge and 40 caliber. 30-inch barrels, shotgun barrels are
Damascus; rifle barrel is steel. Barrels marked: L.C. Smith, Maker of the Baker Gun,
Syracuse NY, Damascus Steel. Case-hardened backaction sidelock action with border
engraving and foliate scroll details. Push-forward front trigger opening. Rifle barrel
selector in front of front trigger. Tang-mounted folding peepsight. Finely checkered
pistolgrip stock of figured walnut. Hard rubber buttplate. Finely checkered short fore-end
with wedge and steel tip.
Condition: Fine. Barrels show 80-90% browning. Barrels show numerous
small dents. Bores show some frosting and riveling. Action and locks show 50-60% case
colors with 30-40% being vivid. Stock pinned at head. Stock shows a refreshed finish.
Fore-end shows losses to left edge.
