Cased 12 Gauge Francotte Sidelock Ejector Double Barrel Shotgun
Serial no. 90540. 12 gauge. 27 5/8-inch chopper lump barrels marked: Auguste Francotte
Brevette-Liege/G. Burgin-Basel. Concave matted rib. Case-hardened bar-action sidelock
engraved with chevron borders and very fine foliate scroll. Non-automatic safety. Single
selective trigger. Hidden third fastener. Beaded fences. Disc-set strikers. Gold-plated
lock work. Gold-plated cocking indicators . Hand-detachable locks. Finely checkered
straight-grip stock of figured walnut. Gold oval with initials. Drop points. Checkered
butt. Finely checkered splinter fore-end. Leather trunk case with red baize interior,
brass corners and lock.
Condition: Very Good. Barrels show 70-80% bluing with losses at
fore-end and in front of fore-end. Barrels and rib show a nick near the breech. Slight
ring bulge at left muzzle. Bright bores. Action shows 80-90% mostly vivid case colors.
Triggerguard shows losses to finish on tang. Stock shows a crack at head on right side
extending under lockplate and to the triggerplate. Stock with a number of handling marks.
Well defined checkering. Case in excellent condition with some nicks and impressions to
exterior.
