U.S. Springfield Model 1795 Musket, Dated 1800
.69 caliber, 44 1/2-inch barrel with three iron bands and bayonet lug. Breech marked:
P/[eaglehead]/V/US(faint). Deep cartouche. Lock marked: Springfield/[eagle]/US. Standard
walnut stock with faint cartouche, letter A and a numeral 3 stamped opposite lock.
Buttplate dated:1800. Steel ramrod. Sling mounts.
Condition: Very good to fine. Metal with rich brown age patina with
large patch of pitting near breech. Wood with light, even wear and scattered minor dents
and bruises present. A fine example of this model.
