.69 caliber, 42 1/8-inch barrel with bayonet lug. Three iron barrel bands. Breech
marked: US[within oval]/eaglehead over P[within oval]. Lock marked:
[eagle/US]/Harpers/Ferry/1818. Standard walnut stock with v/JL cartouche. Also marked:
N/V/AT. lllegible mark behind tang. Sling mounts.
Condition: Very good to fine. Metal with brown age patina and
scattered pitting, particularly near breech. Wood fine with minor dents and bruises.
