Scarce U.S. Whitneyville Model 1861 Navy "Plymouth" Percussion Rifle Dated
1864
Serial no. 9057, .69 caliber, 34-inch round barrel with bayonet lug for the Dahlgren
bayonet and two steel barrel bands. Ladder-type long range rear sight. Wooden tompion.
Breech marked: V/P/[eaglehead]/F.C.W.(Frank. C. Warner)/1864. Lock marked: [spread
eagle]/U.S. Whitney-Ville/1864. Standard walnut stock with inspector cartouche. Steel
ramrod. Sling mounts.
Condition: Excellent. Bright steel with light wear only. Wood lightly
cleaned and showing a few minor dents and marks.
