"COLT MODEL 1911 SEMI-AUTO MILITARY PISTOL. SN 143325. Cal. 45 ACP. This 1917 production 1911 with its brushed finish has usual slide & frame markings with "GHS" (Gilbert H. Stewart) inspector initials on left side above magazine release. Mounted with diamond checkered walnut grips & has its orig bbl with tiny "PH" proofs parallel with bore and is accompanied by an orig 2-tone magazine. Slide has a few small areas of pitting with fabric pattern, probably from laying wrapped in a cloth in a damp climate. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Slide, as noted, otherwise overall retains about 95% strong orig brushed finish blue. Frame has a few spots of pinprick pitting on left forward side. Front strap is strong with some slight thinning to mainspring housing. Grips are sound & show moderate wear, grip screws are slightly battered. Mechanics are crisp, strong sharp bore, frosty in grooves. 4-33489 JR172 (2,000-3,000)"
