"COLT MODEL 1911 SPRINGFIELD SEMI-AUTO MILITARY PISTOL. SN 78351. Cal. 45 ACP. Usual configuration with 5" bbl fixed sights & standard Springfield markings with flaming bomb at left rear end of slide and on left side of frame above magazine release. Left front side of frame has "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Right side of slide has the Springfield eagle & "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY". This pistol is from the 1st Springfield Contract in 1914. Bbl, slide lock & hammer have tiny "S" proof marks and it is accompanied by an orig 2-tone folded base lanyard loop Springfield magazine. Accompanied by a "1918" dated brown military holster & WWII web belt & magazine pouch. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Slide retains about 95% orig blue with slight muzzle edge wear & some flaking on top in front of ejection port. Frame & mainspring housing retain 95-97% strong orig blue, slightly thinned on front strap. Grips are very fine with left side showing light wear & right side moderate wear. Mechanics are fine, strong sharp bore with fine pitting. Holster shows substantial wear. Belt & pouch are fine. 4-33494 JR156 (3,000-5,000)"
