"COLT MODEL 1911 SEMI-AUTO MILITARY PISTOL. SN 36433. Cal. 45 ACP. This pistol is from the 1st USMC Contract of 1913. It has blue finish in usual configuration with orig thin front sight & rnd top fixed rear sight. It has usual markings on left side of slide with last patent date "1911" and a rampant Colt at left rear end. Right side of slide is marked "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY". Left front side of frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and it has the "WGP" (Maj. Walter G. Penfield) inspector initials above magazine release. Bbl is proper orig equipment with tiny "PH" inspector initials perpendicular to bore. Fitted with diamond checkered walnut grips & accompanied by a rare orig 2-tone lanyard loop magazine with keyhole slot at top rear. Accompanied by a rare "USMC" marked flap holster with replacement belt loop, missing leg strap. CONDITION: Fine plus. Slide retains about 80% thin orig blue, stronger in sheltered areas. Frame retains about 60% strong orig blue, thin on front end and front & back straps. Grips show light to moderate wear, having been freshened. Magazine is very fine. Mechanics are fine, strong sharp frosty bore. Holster is fair to poor retaining mostly a dark oiled patina with the "USMC" flap marking completely legible and the toe & part of rear seam open.
