"MAUSER BANNER TURKISH AIR FORCE PROTOTYPE LUGER & HOLSTER. SN NSN. Cal. 9 mm. Exceedingly rare Turkish Air Force Prototype Luger with 4" bbl, Mauser banner on front toggle link, "TC" (Turkiye Cumuhuriyti) logo & crescent moon over chamber with Oberndorf crown "U" proof on left side of receiver. Right side of receiver is roll marked, "HAVA ORDUSUNA MAHSUSTUR" (Air Force Property) & the extractor is marked "ATES" (Fire) & "emniyet" (Safe) marked in the top safety position. There were no numbers or other markings found anywhere else on this pistol. Accompanied by a unique, unnumbered aluminum base magazine which appears orig to the pistol. Also accompanied by a very unique form-fitted brown leather flap holster with snap & strap over a brass stud with an unusual star & crescent crest stamped into front of flap above brown snap button. This may be the only unnumbered Turkish Air Force banner Luger known and it is still in extraordinary, unbelievable condition. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine. Overall retains about 99% strong orig factory blue with only faint muzzle edge wear & about 98% strong orig factory straw colors with slight thinning on safety lever & trigger. Grips are crisp with very light wear & a few chipped diamonds with beautiful wood grain showing through. Grip screws retain about 98% orig fire blue on left side & about 90% on right side. Magazine is in extremely fine orig condition. Crisp mechanics, brilliant shiny bore. Holster is very fine plus condition with light wear & scuffs & a few stains. 4-36128 JR206 & BS (30,000-40,000)"
