Cased Colt London Model 1849 Pocket Revolver, with Accessories
Serial no. 5359, .31 caliber percussion, 5-shot cylinder with stagecoach holdup roll
scene, 5-inch barrel with bracketed two line Address Col. Colt London marking;
COLT'S/PATENT on left side of frame; British proof markings on barrel lug and at breech of
cylinder. Blued, with case-hardened lever, hammer and frame; blued steel gripstraps;
varnished walnut grips. Mahogany London case with brass plaque inlaid on lid; lined in
dark blue velvet, with bag-shaped James Dixon & Sons powder flask, blued steel
COLTS/PATENT bullet mold, wood-handled steel cleaning rod, L-shaped screwdriver/nipple
wrench, container of Eley Bros. caps, small glass oil bottle with stopper, miscellaneous
projectiles and key.
Condition: Excellent. 75% blue on barrel, balance flaking, brown
patina; cylinder with 95% blue, light tracking lines; sharp scene; 70% blue on gripstraps;
95% case-hardening; 98% varnish, light marks, dent on left panel at butt. Case and
accessories fine to excellent; exterior with dull patina to varnish.
