Cased Colt Model 1862 Police Revolver with 61/2-Inch Barrel, and with Accessories
Serial no. 1137, .36 caliber percussion, 5-shot fluted and rebated cylinder, 6 1/2-inch
barrel with - ADDRESS SAML COLT HARTFORD CT. - on top; COLTS/PATENT on left side of frame;
blued, with case-hardened lever, hammer and frame; silver-plated brass gripstraps;
varnished walnut grips. Varnished mahogany case with burgundy velvet lining; accessories
of eagle and shield powder flask, blued steel COLTS/PATENT bullet mold, can Eley Bros.
caps, L-shaped screwdriver/nipple wrench and packet of combustible envelope cartridges.
Condition: Excellent. 95% blue on barrel and cylinder, fading;
scattered nicks on right side of barrel lug; light areas patina to steel, primarily on
hammer; 95% case-hardening; 95% silver-plating with light tarnish; grips excellent to mint
with 100% varnish, light storage marks; cylinder safety pins fine; minor tracking lines.
Case very good, dull patina on exterior, with nicks, wear and crack on bottom; wear and
light stains and fading to interior; flask complete with L-shaped tool and mold.
