Carved Ivory Powderhorn Flask, c. 20th-century
The carved ivory powder flask in the form of a small horn, the outer side with
relief-carved image of a skull and crossed bones with riband reading: Grand Terre. A
riband above the skull with date 1809; a scroll below with inscribed: "W." The
inner side with relief-carved trophies of arms and shield with clenched fist holding a
scroll. Carved rope pattern borders. Carved spout with threaded stopper. Wooden plug.
Length: 5 1/2-inches.
Condition: Excellent with light age wear and patina.
